Taryn Boland is a lifelong New Jersey resident with extensive experience leading complex regulatory, operational, and policy initiatives across the state’s energy, utility, broadband, and infrastructure sectors. Prior to joining ACECNJ, she served as Senior Advisor at the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU), providing high-level counsel to the Board President and Commissioners on statewide energy priorities, regulatory strategy, organizational alignment, and stakeholder engagement. From 2021 to 2026, Taryn served as Chief of Staff at NJBPU, acting as the agency’s chief operating executive and overseeing enterprise operations, regulatory functions, policy development, fiscal and IT systems, government affairs, communications, and workforce modernization. She guided the agency through major strategic transitions, expanded staffing capacity, modernized operational infrastructure, and oversaw the establishment the Office of Broadband Connectivity, positioning New Jersey to maximize federal broadband funding opportunities. Taryn also represented the state in high-visibility settings, including gubernatorial press briefings, contested regulatory sessions, and international delegations focused on offshore wind and advanced nuclear development. Prior to her executive leadership at NJBPU, Taryn served as Deputy Chief of Staff, where she led digital modernization of a key Clean Energy Program, directed communications for statewide renewable energy initiatives, and managed New Jersey’s Clean Energy Conferenc Earlier in her career, Taryn spent more than a decade at the Corporation for Supportive Housing, advising on and implementing its national communications strategy, major organizational initiatives, and event platforms for a national summit of more than 1,000 attendees. She also held roles at the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency and the Office of U.S. Representative Bill Pascrell, Jr., where she built foundational experience in public service, intergovernmental coordination, and community engagemen Taryn holds a Master of Public Affairs and Politics from Rutgers University’s Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy and a Bachelor of Government and Law from Lafayette College.
