Ms. Kyrra Hana Mosley is an Assistant Department Manager and Project Manager with Michael Baker International, bringing more than 26 years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic studies, stormwater management, roadway drainage design, and stream encroachment permitting. Her career began with Jacobs Engineering Inc., formerly Edwards and Kelcey, through a professional development rotation program that provided experience across fiber optic design, roadway and highway transportation, structures, rail transit, and intelligent traffic systems. While at Jacobs, Ms. Mosley’s expanded into a regional role of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion where she helped champion teaming opportunities holding spaces to foster relationships at multiple outreach events. Since 2005, she has contributed to major water resources and transportation projects totaling more than $50 million in design value.
In her current role, Ms. Mosley supervises design engineers within the surface water group and supports the preparation of contractual plans, permitting plans, and nonstandard construction details. She has also served as an extension of staff and subject matter advisor for government agencies, assisting with technical reviews and daily project responsibilities. Her client experience includes the New Jersey Department of Transportation, New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, New Jersey Turnpike Authority, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and several counties and municipalities throughout New Jersey.
Ms. Mosley developed a strong interest in mathematics and science at an early age, participating in the Douglass Weekend Academy for Engineering and the Rutgers Young Scholars Program. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2000 and completed a three-year internship with New Jersey Transit as a project manager for the Hoboken Rehabilitation Department.
Her professional affiliations include WTS NJ, SWE, ACEC NJ, ASCE, NJAFM, NSBE, COMTO, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She has held leadership roles with NSBE, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, ACEC NJ, and WTS NJ, including serving as WTS NJ Vice President and ACEC NJ Member Engagement and Belong Chair. Her service also includes community engagement, mentoring, outreach, and professional development initiatives.
Ms. Mosley has received numerous recognitions for her contributions to the engineering profession and the communities she serves, including the 2022 Science Spectrum Trailblazer Award from Black Engineer of the Year, the 2022 WTS NJ Member of the Year Award, the 2022 NSBE Region I Professional Ambassador Award, and the 2022 Legacy Award from the Nubian Cultural Center. She has also participated in several speaking engagements, including panels, workshops, career programs, and industry conferences.
Outside of her professional and community commitments, Ms. Mosley enjoys softball, cycling, golfing, Pilates, and traveling. She is also a member of Blessed Sacrament St. Charles Borromeo Church in Newark, New Jersey.
